   CLASSNOTES
Igraduated from the RVC in 2015 with a bit of an idea to try and help bring the profession into the 21st century...... I am the first to big up the
veterinary profession but it isn’t half old fashioned sometimes!
Anyway, I spent my first 15 months in practice at a 24 hour hospital, where
I cemented my skills and really started to enjoy the job. With regards to social media, I started filming some info videos and doing photo posts to help
educate owners. It never ceases to amaze me some of the bad advice out there!
Since then, I have joined the Neighbourhood Vet in East Dulwich and I have been there just over two years. I have finished a year long certificate in surgery and the veterinary side of things is definitely keeping
me busy.
In February 2017, I got a call from
my friend Roshni; she had responded to an appeal put out in Veterinary Times for vets looking to get involved with a new kids TV show...... I didn’t think much of it then but low and behold a week later I got a call from the production company and by
the end of the month they had confirmed that I would be one of the featured vets.
It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster from there - four series down and another two being filmed and I’ve also started doing some features on daytime TV. Things are going from strength to strength.
At the centre of it all is a drive to educate owners and highlight the big issues we see in the profession.
Are you doing something over and above your day job to educate and influence change? Please let us know at development@rvc.ac.uk.
