Supporting students and alumni

the survey in your inbox, and ensure your contact details are up to date via RVC4Life (rvc.ac.uk/rvc4life-alumni/login).
If you graduated more than two
years ago, we would also like to hear from you. From time to time, we ask alumni to volunteer to be involved in careers events, for example our annual Biosciences Careers Conference (held in September each year). We know
that alumni, at whatever stage of their career and wherever that career has taken them, can give valuable insights and advice to students. If you would be interested in volunteering to share your experiences at a careers event, then please ensure your details are kept up to date via RVC4Life. You can also contact development@rvc.ac.uk if you are particularly interested in volunteering in this way.

Are you a recent graduate?
RVC Careers Service supports students and recent graduates with all aspects
of career planning, and in putting those plans into action. If you graduated from the RVC within the last two years, you can still access the Careers Service for one-to-one support from professional Careers Consultants. It could be that you want to discuss making a decision about your next step, job-hunting strategies
and techniques or how to make an effective application. We also offer mock interviews with feedback, to help you prepare for the real thing. Whether you are interested in employment or further study we can support you. In addition, we have a dedicated Applications Adviser who can give you feedback on your CV, application or personal statement for work or further study. If you still have access
to Learn, you can see our resources and book an appointment through the RVC Careers Service area. Otherwise, you can arrange an appointment by emailing development@rvc.ac.uk and we鈥檒l pass your request to the relevant person.
Graduate Outcomes Survey
For those of you who graduated this year, you will be contacted 15 months after the end of your course and asked
to complete the Graduate Outcomes Survey. This is a national survey capturing information about the activities and perspectives of graduates. All graduates who completed a course will be asked
to take part in the survey, in order to help current and future students gain an insight into career destinations and development. The survey is also of national significance as it allows policy makers, charities,

Our current BSc and MSci bioscience students are often looking for full and part time summer placements and part time work during term time. We also have students interested in finding year-long placements to complete
a Certificate in Work Based Learning and Research and we now offer an MSci Applied Biological/Bioveterinary Research with the fourth year of study dedicated to a lab or field based research project outside of the RVC. And as you know, our bioscience

students are all lab ninjas! Previous placements include contract research and clinical laboratories as well as lab and field based research projects in external academic institutions. Non-lab based work/research could include data collection, data entry, office based research, publishing, media, outreach. The possibilities are endless!
