rainforest!
By Perri Wiggin, RVCZS President
Throughout the 2017-2018 academic year the society has been raising money for Rainforest Trust UK to help save and protect the world’s rainforests and the endangered species within them. They did this through a range of fundraisers including pub quizzes, Valentine’s Day cookie sales and the Hawkshead Hobble.
All the money raised will be quadrupled (for every
£1 donated the Rainforest Trust’s SAVES Challenge matches it with an additional £3) and used as part
of The Rainforest Trust Rungan River Peat Swamp Forest project in Borneo, as chosen by RVC ZooSoc members. This forest is home to 4% of the world’s remaining critically endangered Bornean Orangutans.
RVC ZooSoc would like to thank everyone involved in helping raise money for this very important cause!
