        NURSING




        Veterinary nurses play a vital role within the
        veterinary industry in caring for sick, injured
        and hospitalised animals, and contributing
        to the ongoing care of animals.


        Veterinary nurses work under the direction of a veterinary surgeon
        and are involved in administering prescribed medications, ensuring
        patient’s nutritional needs are met, performing diagnostic imaging and
        undertaking laboratory tests, preparing patients for a variety of surgical
        and medical procedures and supporting patients through rehabilitation.
        Veterinary nurses are also a key point of contact for owners when they
        come to the veterinary practice, playing an important role in educating
        owners on preventative medicine and how to care for their pet following
        diagnosis of long-term conditions (such as diabetes mellitus) and upon
        discharge following surgical procedures. The BSc degree also extends
        your research skills, so that you can contribute to the evidence base for
        veterinary nursing.
        The BSc Veterinary Nursing course is designed to
        produce veterinary nurses who have the knowledge
        and skills to make a significant contribution to animal
