CLASSNOTES
In Tokyo, I was very proud to have
two of my clients on the team; Tom
McEwen with Toledo de Kerser, whom
I’ve worked with for 15 years, and Laura
Collett with London 52. My journey with
the team so far has included team gold
medals at the European Championships
in 2017, the World Equestrian Games
in 2018, and the Olympic Games Tokyo
2020. We also achieved team silver at
the Europeans in 2019 and numerous
individual medals along the way.
I’ve always been keen to continue my
professional development. In 2015 I
completed the Associate exam of the
Worshipful Company of Farriers, which
is an anatomy and pathology-based
syllabus. The desire to keep learning
led me to take on the RVC Equine
Locomotor Research project. This
involves a more scientific and evidence-
based approach to farriery and was a
fresh challenge, but very rewarding. It
allowed me to question some common
beliefs within the industry. Peer-to-peer
learning was a new experience. Being
able to bounce ideas off each other
and offer advice to each other made
learning and researching very enjoyable.
It has also given me a great foundation
to continue studying for the Fellowship
exam, which I intend to take on within
the next couple of years.
Greig graduated from the RVC’s
Graduate Diploma in Equine
Locomotor Research this year.
